光電所碩士班研究生畢業論文口試

注 意 事 項

申請論文口試前

一、碩士學位考試置考試委員三人至五人，指導教授為當然委員（與境外大學合作辦理雙聯學制不受此限），但不得為主持人。

1-1 主持人由出席委員互推舉之；指導教授以外之考試委員人數應達二分之一(含)以上且至少有一人為校外委員。

1-2 碩士班研究生之配偶或三親等內之血親、姻親，不得擔任其碩士學位考試委員。

1-3 未曾擔任過本所之校外考試委員須送申請審查表，凡獲有博士學位者，經申請論文考試碩博班生之指導教授及所長同意後，即可擔任本所之碩士及博士學位考試委員。

二、同學需自行與指導教授討論確認口試日期、時間、委員名單及地點。

考試地點請於確認日期與時間後，電洽電機系系辦謝素宜小姐(分機62195)商借或自行上電機系網頁預約登記，若同學欲借用物理系或其他館舍場地，請自行洽詢各系所負責人。

三、請於口試日期兩周前自行於校務資訊系統提出研究生學位考試申請登錄，存檔送出申請後列印(a)碩士學位考試申請表、(b)國立清華大學學位論文符合學術倫理聲明書簽屬。

1-1 提出線上申請後，請立即繳交經指導教授簽名之(a)碩士學位考試申請表、(b)國立清華大學學位論文符合學術倫理聲明書、(c)光電所碩/博士班學位考試申請表、(d)歷年成績單正本、(e)論文相似度比對報告及(f)論文摘要電子檔給所辦，應備資料(a)～(f)備齊提交至所辦後才會審核您於校務資訊系統上提出之口試申請。

論文相似度比對報告：學生可自行申請下載文章剽竊檢測工具Turnitin(請至清大計算機與通訊中心→學習科技組→教學服務→剽竊檢測工具Turnitin)進行檢測比對。

 光電所碩/博士班學位考試申請表 

1-2 申請通過後，電子檔聘函可自行於校務資訊系統點選寄出給考試委員，如需紙本聘函請至所辦申請製作並由學生自行郵寄給考試委員。

1-3 依國立清華大學研究生學位考試口試費支給原則，碩士班學位考試時，口試委員(含指導教授)為三至五位，依實際口試委員人數支給每位口試委員一千元。口試費未包含國外匯款手續費，若有超額之部分須由各實驗室自行支付。

1-4 考試委員交通費依學校交通費標準辦理，自行開車或沒有票根者以台鐵自強號票價認列，如委員將搭乘高鐵，請務必事前告知所辦，俾利準備高鐵標準車廂費用。新竹地區及國外至台灣之考試委員恕不補助交通費用。

四、請於考試前或當天至光電所辦公室領取(1)口試委員口試費(含交通費)、(2)領據、(3)口試評分單、(4)口試平均成績登記表、(5)指導教授推薦書及(6)考試委員審定書給考試委員簽名，並於考試完畢後將簽署完成的(2)～(6)文件立刻送回所辦。

Institute of Photonics Technologies Master’s Program
Guidelines Governing Master’s Thesis Examinations

Graduating students are advised to read the following guidelines. For any inquiries, please contact the IPT office (ext. 42460 / E-mail to iptoffice@ee.nthu.edu.tw).

Before Applying for the Thesis Defense

1. Master’s degree examining committees must be composed of three to five members, with the examinee’s advisor as an ex officio member (overseas university dual degree programs are exempted from this requirement) but not the committee chair. The chair shall be elected from among the members in attendance.

1-1. The number of non-advisor members shall make up at least ½ of the committee, and there must be a member who is not affiliated with NTHU.

1-2. An examinee’s spouse or relative within the third degree of kinship, whether by blood or by marriage, may not serve on their master’s degree examining committee.

1-3. The recommendation of a new examination committee member requires submitting an application review form. Individuals who hold a doctoral degree may serve on a master’s/doctoral degree examining committee with the approval of both the advisor and the Institute Director.

2. As the examinee, you are responsible for finalizing the examination time, date, and place, as well as the list of committee members.

Upon confirmation of the examination time and date, please call Ms. Hsieh Su-Yi at the Institute Office (ext. 62195) or visit the Institute’s website to reserve an examination venue. If you wish to reserve a venue in the Department of Physics or in another building, you must contact the competent person in the appropriate unit yourself to do so.

3. Students must submit the Master’s degree examination request through the Academic Information Systems two weeks in advance of the examination date. After saving and submitting the application, print the following documents:

(a) Master's Degree Examination Application Form

(b) National Tsing Hua University Thesis Compliance with Academic Ethics Declaration Form (signed).

3-1 Immediately following the request submission, please submit these forms and signed by your advisor to the IPT Office.

(a) Master's Degree Examination Application Form, (b) National Tsing Hua University Thesis Compliance with Academic Ethics Declaration Form, (c) Institute of Photonics Technologies Master’s/Doctoral Program Degree Examination Form, (d) a transcript of your cumulative academic record, (e) a thesis originality report, and (f) Abstract (electronic copy). Applications will only be processed after all items (a)–(f) are submitted.

To generate a thesis originality report through Turnitin, visit the NTHU Computer and Communication Center website → Division of Learning Technology → Teaching Services → Turnitin

3-2 Once the application is approved, the electronic appointment letters can be sent to the examination committee members through your AIS. If a printed appointment letter is needed, please request it from the IPT office, and the student is responsible for mailing it to the committee members.

3-3 Pursuant to the NTHU Principles Governing the Remuneration of Graduate Degree Examining Committee Members, master’s degree examining committees must be composed of three to five members (including the thesis advisor). Each committee member may receive NT$1,000 in remuneration. The handling fees for international wire transfers are not included, and must be paid by the laboratory.

3-4 Committee members are entitled to be reimbursed for their travel expenses in accordance with the standards set forth by NTHU. Committee members who drive to the examination venue or who cannot present a public transportation ticket will be reimbursed based on the Tze-Chiang Express rate. Committee members from Hsinchu or a foreign country are ineligible for travel reimbursements.

4. Before or on the day of the examination, please collect the following documents from the IPT office: (1) oral defense committee members' honorarium (including travel fees), (2) receipts, (3) oral defense evaluation forms, (4) oral defense average grade registration form, (5) advisor recommendation letter, and (6) examination committee approval form. All documents must be signed by the committee members. After the examination, promptly return the signed (2)–(6) documents to the IPT office immediately.
